~An Introduction to My Novel~

4:04 PM

Every person that is reading this, I just want to say *thank you*. This is Mic's Room 100th post. Now, last September in 2015, I began on a journey. I named it 'Sea Fair'. At first, my whole heart wasn't into this, but by the time Campnano rolled around, my tac board was taken siege by sticky-notes and jottings that only make sense to the author. I made friends with beings that just last year had never been in existence. I want you all to meet them as well.

Delaney Reed

Delaney sighed, and let herself slip onto the soft, cool dirt floor. “I wish I was on a train right now.” “To where, foolish girl?” Delaney’s eyes rested on the blank whitish blue sky that soared above all the earth. “oh, how should I know where I want to go? Somewhere I can meet an adventure.”

“I…” Delaney said, sweeping her dress trail in one hand, and letting her eyes wander into the panoramic view of blue about. “Think I’ll take ink-and jot with many lines that fill ones heart with their meaning, and descriptive elegance. I want to reach into the heart of my reader, taking hold of their emotions, and make them feel every word I write is true.”

Reland Telay

Reland provided a space of silence for a time, and then observed the sky his companion seemed so engrossed in. “I’m not much interested in traveling anywhere.” “I don’t know how your not.” Delaney’s voice quickly sounded less absent than before. “I think I’d rather just stay home.” The boy said sturdily. “And if you miss all the adventures you could have had?” “I’ll still have all the adventures I could ever want.”

Lilly Anna

Lilly Anna giggled, but it was a friendly laugh, for than she became straight again, and said playfully yet seriously, “Yes.”

Lilly Anna was the careless one, with the crazy and random ideas that brought light thoughts to everyone’s mind, and she was also the audience; laughing whenever she was able.

Eddy Fawl

“I’ll never grow up!” The boy shrieked, suddenly standing from the table, and flailing his arms about the room. Mr. Fawl emerged from the room next, to push the boy’s arms in, and claim, “You can, and you will. You aren’t Peter Pan, Eddy. You must mature sometime.” The boy was quite stunned at this, for it may be said that Eddy never thought of being mature. When he was married, he knew his wife would take care of the children, and he would be the one to let them have fun. When the children were grown and gone, he would adopt more to please his energetic side, and when still, Eddy pictured himself as an old man, it was an eccentric crotchety being.

Delaney Reed had always enjoyed writing tales. When her Mother tells her she is related to a famous authoress, the girl finds herself even more eager to try her hand at it. Yet, when she gets her first harsh review at so young an age, she sets to dream of experience by travel. Still, the girl has time to grow and bloom where she was born. Delaney meets Reland, a clumsy neighbor with a talent for poetry; Lilly Anna, an excited girl full of laughter; and enjoys Eddy Fawl's friendship, the boy of whom tries often for laughs. Then, years later as her auburn hair grows longer and her face matures, she gets the chance she's always wanted; Europe is just a ticket away. Will she leave the home she has always loved for one she's never known? Or find the experience she needs where she has been planted?
