Interview with SARAH from Trusting in the Lord

Not only is Sarah an amazing blogger (yep) but she's also an amazing friend (I'm looking at you, girl). Who else makes you personal, creative and adorable art every week? So, and I say, pay attention and read this interview. Because she is awesome (go make her followers over 102 at Trusting in the Lord)

When you started a blog, what were your thoughts?

"Maybe, someday, I'll reach 20 followers." << *ahem* Yes, I really thought that. If you told me three years later I'd still be blogging, have a DSLR and have over 100 followers I'd say, "Yeah, righhttt. You're nuts. I mean, seriously?"

What do you think now?

I think I've improved a lot since I started and please never go back on my posts. lololol. I think my blog has really helped my photography as well. I seriously don't think I ever would have got a DSLR if it weren't for my blog. What's the fun of taking pictures when you have nothing to use them for?! I'm so glad I started blogging--I've met so many friends through it (including, Michaila!) and grown a lot through it all. It's been amazing. (Awe!)

 Favorite names? Least favorite?
Well, I actually have a couple names for my future kids someday. (lol, yes.) I've always liked the name Nathaniel, (Nathan, Nate). I also really like Aliyah (Ali). Nicknames are pretty important to me. And other than that I haven't thought of any other names that I love yet. xD Least favorite names? Let's just say I'll never name one of my kids, (or characters) Bob, 'kay? I mean, seriously. Why do that to someone?! (Okay this cracks me up because I think Bob is pretty much the worst boy name ever)



Do you remember losing your two front teeth?

Actually, it's really funny you mention this. I lost my two front teeth? (I know I lost two) one night when my brother and I were running around when I was 6. I remember being on this short table next to our banisters and I got knocked down somehow and out when two of my teeth. And no, they weren't loose. (I had actually just lost one tooth before so now I was three teeth short. Made eating super fun).

Favorite number?
12 has always appealed to me. You know, they are right next to each other.

Lessons from your writer experience?
Never compare. Feel free to cringe at old writing and see how far you have come. Don't worry about the little things--enjoy writing, but never give it up. Don't skip things saying you will, "Go back to it later," JUST WRITE JUNK. It really doesn't matter. Just get those words down.


And finally, what is your favorite outfit? 

One of my favorite summer outfits is probably my swimsuit actually. Seriously. Well, the swim bottom part. My sister sells them here: link. and I love wearing them with a normal t-shirt for playing around and every day wear. Also, I really love this bohemianish looking maxi skirt I have (MAXI SKIRTS ARE TO DIE FOR) along with an orange shirt.

Interview with MEGAN from Pen & Ink

Megan runs a lovely little blog 'oer at Pen and Ink (please ignore my accidental "from Megan's Journals" part, lets just say that I've followed her blog for awhile). She makes funny, fun, bookish, and all together the perfect package posts. One of my favorites especially was her post on homeschoolers. It was so true and made me laugh, I even ended up reading some of it to my Mom. Go pay her a visit!

I'll add some notes...heehee.

 When you started a blog, what were your thoughts? At first, blogging was something that I just wanted to try out, so I made my blog private and invited a few friends to read it. I pretty much only posted pictures with cheesy captions, but it was a really fun thing for me to do, and I have come a long way from that! (thankfully!)

 What do you think now? I love blogging. There is such an amazing community of writers and bloggers that I have really come to love and appreciate! Since I created my blog, I have learned so much and really grown in my writing. At one point, I considered being done with blogging, but I missed it so much that I couldn't! It is more than just a hobby for me now, and I enjoy it so much! (Oh! I'm so glad you kept on!)

Favorite song lyrics? I honestly cannot pick one specific song as my favorite, but these lyrics are some of my favorites:

Least favorite song? I don't have one single song that I dislike the most, but I don't like a lot of classical music. Songs that are really repetitive really annoy me too! 

Favorite childhood movie? Either Anne of Green Gables *surprise, surprise!* or Rigoletto. Both of those are amazing movies! ♥ (Anne is the best ;)

Three words to describe yourself? Outgoing, imaginative, learning

Lessons from your writer experience? I actually just wrote a post on my blog about this!  Always write your ideas down! You will forget them otherwise.
 Also, no matter how hard writing becomes, don't give up!  Believe me, it will all be worth it! 

And finally, what is your favorite outfit? My favorite everyday outfit is usually jeans and a t-shirt. (sorry, nothing super fancy here. :p)  I also really like wearing sweatshirts and cozy things when it is cold.

Yes siree, there's been a whole lot of construction on this job site. And even some you've never seen. I have to say that blogging is an experience I'm glad I found. 

It's given me good, caring friends. 

It's given me more outbursts of creativity. 

 It's given me a place to share my Faith.

 And I have to thank God for giving me the chance to do this, the knowledge I found to further it, and the wholesome friends I've made.

Interview with MIKAYLA from the Bubblegum Ballerina

To kick off Mic's Room's anniversary, I have a interview (one of three...can you guess who else?) for you all! Enjoy.

Mikayla (yeah we have the same name, right?) has a great blog, over at the Bubblegum Ballerina. Her photography is BEAUTIFUL (especially of flowers!!) and she also has many faith-based posts that you should really check out. Honestly, head on over and tell her I said hi!

Favorite childhood book?
Treasures of the Snow and Rainbow Garden by Patricia St. John. My older sister, Rose, loved all of St. John’s books, and she read me one, and I decided to read them. I was probably about seven when I picked up Treasures of the Snow, and it was just a few months later when I read Rainbow Garden. They we’re not only amazing stories but they really impacted my life.(I can honestly say that she is so right. Treasures in the Snow is a inspiring, epic adventure and Christian life lesson all in one)

Least favorite?
Probably “Meet Molly” from America Girl. I was about seven when I read that one to, and I just really disliked Molly’s character. After reading faith building books like St. John’s books, AG just didn’t appeal to me very much.

Earliest childhood memory?
Well, I remember a whole lot from my early years, but sometimes it’s hard to place when they were. One that was pretty far back, when I had to be about 2-3 years old was going on a treasure hunt with my siblings that my parents had set up. They had broken up a pot and we got to put it back together. It was pretty cool.

Favorite word?
Awesome. I love that word! I also really love dream, courage, and inspire. I love words that mean something all on their own, like those three words I just listed. (lol why am I thinking of Bear off the Alaskan Bush People "Awesome")

When you started a blog, what were your thoughts?
Well, my older sister had a blog and I loved watching her do her blog posts, so she encouraged me to start my own. I wanted a place to share my photography (Which I had just gotten really into that year) and share some random thoughts. About a year into the blog it started changing into where I really wanted to share about my life, and writing as well.

What do you think now?
Well, my blog is still very much about photography, my life, writing and random stuff. But over the past couple years, I’ve really wanted to share more of my faith as well. My faith is a huge part of who I am, and sharing it just feels right. I hope that through my blog people might be encouraged in their faith, and maybe we can get to know each other.

Lessons from your writer experience? 
There are too many to count, but one of the biggest lessons I learned during writing was that you shouldn’t ever write to impress other people. Our biggest goal as Christian writers is to share God’s message, and even if that means just writing clean stories, we should be doing it for God, not other people. I learned that lesson the hard way.

And finally, what is your favorite outfit?
My favorite outfit changes a lot because I love fashion. But right now my favorite outfit is boots, a brown shirt, teal shirt, brown vest, and teal jewelry. (Teal is thee best color ever)
