...And to All A Good Night // Donald Trump in Gingerbread Form + 100 Christmas Cookies

1:05 PM

Me talking to Mom "We should make these little gingerbread men into baby Jesus. No, that would be sorta weird."

Me and Mom making sugar cookies....

Mom "Mic likes to make a three-course meal from one."

Me "Well, it looks good."

And THEY DO...DON'T THEY??? There's probably about 60 something sugar cookies, and about 3 dozen gingerbread men. IT'S TOO HARD TO LOOK AND NOT EAT.

I always like icing the gingerbread men...because they are so unique, you know? In spirit of the election, I made a replica of the president-elect, Donald Trump.

(I know you like the 'swoop' hair)

I watched Disney's A Christmas Carol last night. Through the whole movie, I think one gains a sense at the end...the purpose of Christmas. Joy. We are not in darkness any longer. And that is the truest meaning of Christmas...that we have a Saviour, to set us free from sin.

Well, as my hair is up in pin curls, and my Dad is calling me 'Aunt Jemima'...I must leave.

Merry Christmas, my wonderful blogger people. And to all a good night.

Do you make Christmas cookies?
Have you ever watched the end of Disney's 'A Christmas Carol' feeling like you just came from a hurricane?
What do you love most about Christmas?

A PACKAGE // A fallen tree & a falling girl

2:29 PM

^^Ahh^^

So...as a *brief* update...went caroling and drank cocoa and ate sweet potato pie and watched Hallmark movies and decorated our live tree and sniffled 'cause the Grinch isn't on T.V.

And put someone's gift under THE TREE. No, I haven't opened it. Or have I? *smirks* I would never, no worries.

(look it's Peter Pan)

About that tree. Well, this giant old fellow went timbers the other day.

(I know right, where's all the leaves...or snow)

You ever have those brief thoughts...kind of like 'no one has ever put their foot on that tree'. And suddenly you have to go walk on it. Well, I'm officially the first person to walk on it.

For some reason the poor thing reminded me of myself...not that I'm rooted to the ground or anything *smiles* but because it seems I'm always almost falling. With Chaine turns, or pirouettes (partially have my double on the right) I came close to knocking out the tree. And then...there was parent watch night *covers face in hands* where I almost spun into someone.

*ahem* but...Christmas is coming. And my pirouettes are getting better. And my gift is going out today, to my wonderful friend *winky laughy face wearing Santa hat*.

And to all...a good night.

A CHRISTMAS COSTUME PARTY + WHAT I WORE // THE STICKY BANDITS

7:22 PM

I HOSTED A CHRISTMAS COSTUME PARTY.

(okay, well...for the youth group, but still) It was so much fun, wish you all could have been there. I believe my earliest preparations for this extravaganza were in November...so yes, I've been quite excited for quite some weeks.

MY COSTUME....was a vintage wind up doll. You know that far-away wish to DRESS LIKE A JANE AUSTEN HEROINE at a ball??? Well, it came true.

It was my very first time wearing real heels...and I did a 'penguin shuffle'. Yes, I was about 5'9 with heels on.
It was also my very first time with penciled eyebrows. Boy, was that different. *Walks into the bathroom* *looks up at the mirror* *astonished face*.

MY HAIR....oh, Mom did a lovely job. I pinned curled ALL of it the night before, then Mom put it up in combs and clips, and just curled a few strands with a curling rod. I had a blouse buttoned up my neck, with a green ribbon tied, and a white bow directly across from my wind-up.

THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE. Haha..............that thing. Our icing bag burst where the zip lock was, and literally just went *GLOP* onto the table (Friends staring at me while I have no idea that I just lost 1/5th or more of the bag). So, we tried icing stuff out of the wasted icing with our hands, thus the title for our team, from that classic movie sequel, Home Alone 2.

(this isn't even our first house. don't ask)

THE PARTY, it turned out to be pretty epical (yes I just created a new word. Ye may use it if you wish). There was Winnie the Pooh, Dolls, Woody from Toy Story (yes Sarah) Mr. Monoply...etc. Overall, I believe all the planning, glue-gunning, stapling, holly leaf-cuts, pin-curling, and anxious waiting was worth it.

After all, isn't Christmas really the most wonderful time of the year?

Jesus=joy

Have you ever (tried) built a gingerbread house?
What toy would you have been?

A Child Was Born

1:27 PM

(Painting By Gerard Van Honthorst)

And the angel said unto them:
"Fear not:
'Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy
which will be to all people,
Unto you is born this day
a Savior which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:11

Come Into the World to save us,
that day are Christ was born,
Joy from Heaven to Earth,
Praise be to our Lord

Letters of Peace

 Church bells rang
And people sang
Presents were
 bought,
And kids were
brought
Tinsel was thrown
And money blown,
But was it all a waste?
Ti's' was true,
The presents and glue,
But JESUS CHRIST was born,
To save the world of it's sin and bring us back to him.

CHRISTMAS

What is Christmas? At the end of A Christmas Carol, I had an epiphany. Christmas isn't about these commercial things! When we watch things like the Santa Claus movies and such, they dramatize that Christmas is about Santa, and Gifts, and family. Now, Christmas is partly about spending time with your family. But what is Christmas really about? The Joy. The Joy that the world, after one precious night, has hope. A Saviour, whom loved us above all love. Christmas is about Joy.

Dashing through the Water

9:43 PM

Me, Josh, and sam had a beach day. a December Beach day at that! We too have been caught in the warm winter wave.

This Christmas, let's stop saying "Happy Holidays" Just to take Jesus out. Saying it is fine, but when people are just saying it to take Christ out of Christmas, it isn't right. Christmas is Jesus's Birthday, not a day for presents, not a day for Santa Claus, and not a day to take his name out of things.

Jesus Loves YOU!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just Something to Make You Smile...

3:55 PM

(via muppets family Christmas wikia)

A few years ago, me and my Dad's youth band sang 'Carol of the Bells'. It's hard to sing so quick until you get the hang of it, but once you do it is enjoyable.  For some reason this video of the Muppets reminds me of us all singing! It's just a little cute clip, hope you get a chuckle.

Thee Long and Merry Christmas Post: DIY Decorations

3:58 PM

Okay everyone! So there are a couple Decorations that I am experimenting with...

Gift Wrapped Door

Snowflakes

Snowflake Garland

What You'll Need

Foam Snowflakes
Fishing String
Scissors
Tacks

Step 1

String your first snowflake by taking the fishing string through holes. I put it through the top let hole, then across to the top right. For every 3 snowflakes I added a mini flake, either through the two top holes or the middle ones.

Step 2

Once your done with the snowflakes (you can even them out after it's hung), put two tacks at the beginning and the end of where your hanging the string. Then tie about two knots at each end.

Step Three

Even out your snowflakes, and make sure they look right.
Then voila!

Gift Wrap Door

What You'll Need

Wrapping Paper (I used about 45")
Tape (shipping tape would work great)
Scissors
Glue Stick
Ribbon
Bow

Step 1

To wrap the door, I measured the amount for the front, and dropped the roll over the back.

Then cut, and tape down. It's a bit tricky to pull the wrapping paper under and up from the door, I actually tore mine. Make sure to cut holes for the door nobs. Sine I did not have enough, I used some from another roll. Patch up your bare spots, using the glue stick so you cannot see the tape.

Step 2

Here you add the ribbon, which I used the tape by sticking it to itself, to make it all-around sticky. My ribbon was supposed to look more 'gifty', but I ran out, so now it is more of a cross.

Then add a ribbon by hot gluing it on, and your done!

My Asparagus Fern & paper mache newspaper tin (the letters are clipped out from the paper ). I learned never to use 4 day old paper mache, wonder if I'll ever forget that smell.

Stay Tuned!
